The story was ok but it didn't flow smoothly all. It seemed to take a third of the book just to set up the actual story and get it started. The ending,,, there isn't one and I suspect this will be yet another never ending story delivered in instalments and buying multiple books. No thanks....Product details

Koinobi Book one of the Koinobi Trilogy eBook Reid Minnich Reviews
The plot had potential but it wasn't fully realized. Character development was decent and parasite's character was interesting. I enjoyed the story, but it didn't bother me when I had to put it down. Some of the characters near the end felt cliche and there was something about the story telling that didn't flow - can't quite put my finger on it, but I'm not motivated to buy the book.
This was different from most "alien" Sci-Fi stories and I rather enjoyed it for the most part.
It is the first of three in a set, I believe. I did enjoy it, but it didn't catch and hold me strongly enough to want more. OK but nothing great.
Wonderful world wonderful possibility. So different and unusual. A little bit horror, a lot of sci-fi and a whole lot of fun!
I will admit, the only reason why I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is that there was something about the writing style that didn't sit quite right with me.
Other than that...this is a great book. It's nice to see a different side of a "parasite" (I use quotations because I think the benefits completely outweigh the disadvantages) as something that's friendly, loving and intelligent. You can easily believe all of the characters, even the most obnoxious or stupid, are people.
It was also interesting to see civilizations that had advanced technology as having disadvantages compared to our current technological level.
The science in this book takes second place behind the character development while the human characters are important it is the alien species character development that makes this book enjoyable. Can’t wait to read the second installment hope it’s as good as the first. You should find your investment in time and money spent reading this book to de well invested.
I’ve just begun reading the previous reviews. But it is after I read and form my opinions. imho Koinobi is one hell of a READ. In one simple tome all our questions on Humanity ‘s Evolution And our First Contact with Sentient interstellar species occurred. How many others outside of Mel Brooks have succeeded in doing that? This is a truly brilliant work if you just want to enjoy it, and not dissect it.
Highly recommend this book. Great story, well told! Creative characters and situations, not just a derivative work of sci-fi standards. Interesting alien cultures and individuals. Will definately read everything else this author has written.
